How this work gets scored

Graded by published rules, not by us.

WebKing has worked with Houston businesses for 27 years. The scores that decide whether this work pays off still come from outside: these are the rules that grade it, what each one requires, and where each one is published.

Whether Google vouches for your agency

Google Ads Partner program

Google grades the agencies it certifies: an optimization score of 70% or better, at least 50% of account strategists certified in Google Ads, and spend reviewed over a trailing 90 days. Premier Partner status goes to the top 3% of participating agencies in each country, decided once a year.

Google Partner requirements

Whether pages load before people leave

Core Web Vitals

Google's speed standard, read from real visits over the previous 28 days rather than a lab test. A page passes when at least 75% of visits see the main content within 2.5 seconds, get a response to a tap within 200 milliseconds, and keep layout shift at 0.1 or less.

Google's thresholds

Whether every visitor can use the site

WCAG 2.2

The accessibility standard plaintiffs and courts cite in ADA website lawsuits. Among its rules, body text needs a 4.5:1 contrast ratio against its background, and anything a finger taps needs at least 24 by 24 pixels of room.

The W3C standard

Whether Google will show the page at all

Google Search Essentials

The technical, spam and content rules a page must meet to be indexed and shown in Google at all. Google says AI Overviews add no technical requirements beyond them, so meeting them is also what makes a page eligible to be linked from an AI Overview.
